‘Investigations still ongoing’- Lagos PPRO
Tears rolled uncontrollably as pretty Silverbird staff, Aishat Mustapha, who was brutally killed on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at her Ogudu GRA, Lagos residence was laid to rest at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos, on Wednesday, March 25, 2015.
News broke some two weeks ago that the 26-year-old described by colleagues as ‘jovial and a go-getter’ had been murdered after returning from work around 7:30 pm on the fateful Saturday.
And as has become the norm with the social media and blogging age, loads of speculations filled the web space. Some self-professed witnesses of the incident claimed that the Auchi, Edo indigene was killed by a lover she was pregnant for. Others buttressed the claim, saying they overheard the late Aishat and her married-with-kids assailant arguing over the purported pregnancy.
With investigation into her murder still ongoing, she was reportedly buried at the insistence of her family.
ENCOMIUM Weekly contacted the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Kenneth Nwosu, on the latest development.
Speaking to our correspondent on Saturday, March 28, 2015, he said: “Yes, she has been buried. Every test that needed to be conducted had been carried out. Investigation is still ongoing”.
On whether the burial has any bearing on ongoing investigation, he said: “No, it doesn’t hinder the investigation.”
