Phone addiction reduces the quality of your sleep

A new study has cautioned that being glued to your phone or tablet reduces the quality of your sleep.
Many people are addicted to their phones that it’s the last thing they see at night and the first thing they look at when the day breaks.
The blue light emitted from these devices have become common in recent years. It is known to have caused restlessness and other sleeping disorders. The study revealed that younger phone users stay longer on their devices and that lowers the quality of sleep they get.
According to the study, over two thirds of adults sleep with their phones by their bed.
Not getting enough sleep causes depression, obesity, stroke and death. It’s also affects school and performance at work.
Co-author of the study, Matthew Christensen said, “Smartphones are increasingly integrated into everyday life. Poor sleep – too little or too much, and poor quality – has been shown to be a risk factor for obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, depression, and overall mortality. At the same time, the prevalence of insomnia and sleep deprivation have risen.
“Limiting the use of TV and computers near bedtime is commonly recommended as an important part of good sleep hygiene, but direct measurements of ‘screen-time’ in native (or home) environments have not previously been available,” he concluded.
