An elderly couple escaped death by the whiskers after a small twin-engine plane crashed into their home in Chicago, Illinois (USA) on Tuesday (November 18) and missed them by just eight inches.
The plane reported problems shortly after takeoff and crashed into the southwest Chicago house less than 1km from the airport.
Assistant Chicago Fire Department Commissioner, Michael Fox said a couple asleep in the home was missed by “eight inches” (20cm). He added: “It’s very lucky. They were in a bedroom next to the living room and the living room is gone,” he said.
