In spite of President Muhammadu Buhari’s fervent appeal for a private ceremony as his daughter Zahra and Ahmed Indimi became man and wife on Friday, December 16, a carnival played out right before his eyes.
The extravaganza surpassed its billing by terabytes with power brokers, magnates and tycoons, socialites and pillars of high society rubbing shoulders and back slapping as they exchanged banters.
From the Presidency to the National Assembly, State Houses across the nation to board rooms of Nigeria’s top companies, from political party pillars and beams to those who colour ceremonies bright and beautiful, we got tired of counting the dignitaries who felicitated with Nigeria’s first family.
From the Central Mosque to State House, there was hardly room to move during the magical event.
We counted among the pillars at the ceremony –
Chief Ernest Shonekan
General Abdulsalami Abubakar
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar
President Alpha Conde of Guinea
Chief John Odigie Oyegun
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Alhaji Aliko Dangote
Mr. Femi Otedola
Chief Bisi Akande
Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu
Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode
Malam Nuhu Ribadu
Senator Bukola Saraki
Hon. Yakubu Dogara
Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila
Sen. Andy Uba
