Cocaine, labelled a class A drug in the UK and US, has lately been mixed with a banned substance, Levamisole – a potent de-wormer used on horses and cows.
The side effect of Levamisole poisoning is that it causes a severe drop in a person’s white blood cell count. This causes inflammation and rupture in the blood vessels.
The effect of this is turning the user’s ears black and rotting the skin away to cause massive sores. In most cases, they die from these severe infections.
Cocaine is the second most used drugs in the UK, with adults aged 16 and 59 reportedly taking it.
