1. OSINBAJO IS THE NEW JUDAS – FANI KAYODE

Nigeria’s ex-Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Sunday claimed that Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has betrayed Christians and the church in Nigeria by pairing with President Muhammadu Buhari who “hates” Southerners and Christians.
He noted that under Buhari, every military and security agency except one is headed by a northern Muslim. He also observed that every parastatal in the energy sector is headed by a Northerner.
2. ATIKU URGED NOT TO RELENT IN BIND FOR 2019 PRESIDENTIAL TICKET
A group supporting the 2019 presidential candidacy of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has called on him not to relent in pursuing the ticket.
The group, Atiku Support Group (ASG), made the call yesterday at a meeting in Bauchi. Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Bauchi State Coordinator of ASG, Alhaji Adamu Isa, urged Atiku to contest for the ticket vigorously and that they are solidly behind him.
3. AMBODE’S CONSTITUENCY ENDORSES HIM FOR RE-ELECTION
Federal and state lawmakers, local government chairmen, Councillors, and party leaders of Lagos East senatorial district have endorsed governor Akinwunmi Ambode for re-election in 2019.
The constituents took the decision at the General Assembly in Epe on Sunday. They commended the governor for making the zone and indeed the state proud.
The All Progressives Congress members said Ambode’s achievements in two years prompted their decision to back him for reelection.
4. EXPLOSION ROCKS MUNA GARAGE IN MAIDUGURI
Many people are feared dead on Sunday after an explosion near Muna Garage in Maiduguri. The same garage came under attack exactly one week ago, when a male suicide bomber detonated an explosive at a bus station, killing himself and 18 others.
It was previously attacked in August. This kind of attack is similar to the kinds carried out by Boko Haram which typically uses suicide bombers to target crowded places.
5. BODE GEORGE KICKS OFF PDP CHAIRMANSHIP CAMPAIGN
Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic, Olabode George has kicked off his campaign seeking to be the next national chairman of the Party. Meeting with PDP chieftains in Kaduna, George disclosed that the party needs to be committed and completely loyal to the party’s constitution.
He says all members of the party must respect all laws laid down by the founding fathers of the party.
6. SUICIDE BOMBER ATTACKS MAIDUGURI MOSQUE, KILLS 5 WORSHIPPERS
At least five people were killed on Monday when a suicide bomber blew himself up inside a mosque in northeastern Nigeria, a militia member assisting the military against Boko Haram jihadists said.
The leader of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Ajiri Yala, some 15 kilometres (10 miles) north of Maiduguri, said the attack happened at about 4:30 am.
“A male suicide bomber disguised as a worshipper entered the mosque while people were gathering for the morning prayers,” he told AFP by telephone.
“He detonated his explosives. He killed five people and injured several others.” he said.
7. MARRIED LOVERS FOUND DEAD IN VEHICLE
A woman, reportedly married with kids, and a man (believed to be her lover) were found dead in their car in Ogba, Lagos on Sunday morning behind the headquarters of the Area G Police Command, Ogba , Lagos State .
According to eyewitnesses, their naked bodies indicated they were allegedly having sex before their deaths. Although the names of the deceased had yet to be revealed, they were said to have been respectively married.
The car had been reportedly moved to the premises of the Area G Police Command while the corpses of the duo were said to have been deposited in a morgue.
8. TWO FEMALE SUICIDE BOMBERS KILLED IN MAIDUGURI
Two female suicide bombers, trying to get access to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital have been killed, the police said on Monday.
In a statement by the spokesman of Police in Borno State, Northeast, Victor Isuku, deputy superintendent of police, said, “On 29/10/2017, at about 1845hrs, two female suicide bombers attempted to infiltrate Maiduguri township from Mafa /Dikwa LGA axis.
“They were sighted by vigilant security personnel deployed on patrol.
“Apparently startled by the presence of the security patrol team, and in order to avoid arrest, one of the bombers hurriedly detonated her IED vest killing herself and her partner in a nearby farmland close to NDLEA checkpoint along Maiduguri /Mafa highway, outskirt of Maiduguri township.”
9. REPS’ N6.1BN EXOTIC CARS MALFUNCTION 90 DAYS AFTER DELIVERY
According to reports, some of the exotic cars delivered to the members of the House of Representatives have developed faults barely 90 days after the automobiles arrived in Abuja.
The majority of the lawmakers, 240 out of the total of 360, took delivery of the Peugeot 508 cars between June and July this year.
The cars, which lawmakers prefer to call “committee or utility vehicles,” belong to the National Assembly, though the members keep them in their homes.
Each unit costs N17m, which amounts to a total of N6.1bn for the 360 units for the 360 members.
Investigations showed that members started complaining of faults in the cars just weeks after taking delivery.
10. 16-YEAR-OLD 100L OAU STUDENT COMMITS SUICIDE
Mercy Afolarinmi, a 100 Level Microbiology student at the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, has committed suicide.
According to reports, she died at her hostel outside the school premises after taking a mixture of rat poison and battery extract.
Although some people said she took her own life because of poor grades, some of her friends said she is in good academic standing.
“Yes, some of our first semester results have been released, but it is not about results. She did not have any carryover,” a friend, GIft, insisted.
“It is difficult to know if she is going through challenges. She is a new student and there is a limit to how we can query one another’s mood. We must have mistaken her emotional depression for calmness,” a neighbour added.
