Encomium
Dimgba had some joggers behind him when they noticed an oncoming vehicle speeding towards them. He jumped out of the lane and his fellow joggers followed suit but unfortunately for him, the car hit him and sped off.
Three out of the joggers came to his rescue. One of them, a woman, rushed home to pick her car and drove him to the nearest hospital close by (St. Raphael Hospital, Okota). In the course of the short journey, he used one of his rescuers phone to make a call to his wife who rushed to the scene.
Thanking and praying for his rescuers, Dimgba held onto life but had lost so much blood. After being referred to Isolo General Hospital, the family was disappointed when they were told there was no doctor around to attend to him. Hence, the need to rush him to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). He kept on confessing loudly, “I will make it, I will make it.” His wife, Obioma, whom many described as a woman of unflinching faith, held her faith so high but alas, the veteran never made it. He was hit around 6 a.m but passed on around 10 a.m. Doctors were getting ready for surgery when he died.
