UK police apologizes to Cliff Richard for BBC filming of raid

Following condemnations over its handling of the high-profile search and for tipping off the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), British police has apologized to Sir Cliff Richard ‘if we were insensitive about the way we did that’.

The corporation had on August 14 filmed officers entering the star’s Berkshire home; and yesterday (September 2), chief constable – David Crompton said the force was put in a ‘very difficult position’ by the BBC, and said they ‘had a job to do’.

The police had been accused of a ‘gross lack of competence’ by British Members of Parliament (MPs).
