US president conspicuously absent as world leaders join Charlie Hebdo march in Paris

About a million and half people marched through the streets of Paris – some crying, many cheering, others chanting ‘Je suis Charlie!’ or singing La Marseillaise –  France’s national anthem.

Leading the march were 50 world leaders including the Prime Ministers of France, Britain, Spain, Denmark, Poland, Turkey and Israel stood side-by-side, arm-in-arm with the German chancellor, the Palestinian president, and the Queen of Jordan.

However, conspicuously missing was the president of the world’s greatest superpower and one of the France’s greatest allies, United States of America (USA)’s Barack Obama.  His official schedule was clear, according to reports with sources adding that he was actually sitting at home watching an NFL game
