Miss Chinor Emeka is the beautiful lady behind National Heritage Awards. She has a passion for the youth, and believes in promoting national heritage. She paid a courtesy visit to ENCOMIUM Weekly on Thursday, November 6, 2014. She told us about her passion and her upcoming event.
Can we meet you?
My name is Chinor Emeka, I am from Imo State. I am the CEO of Caires Grooming Agency and founder of the National Heritage Awards and Miss Heritage Nigeria. I am a graduate of Human Anatomy from Madonna University, the first out of 8 children, a daughter to Hon. Lady Emeka Ukaegbu (KSM),
How did the journey into grooming and awards start?
The journey into National Heritage Award and Miss Heritage Nigeria started in 2010 and maiden edition was on December 11, 2011.
How will you describe the experience?
The experience has been very exciting because it is my brain child and I’m happy that I embarked on it. I have been able to assist the youth develop their talents, discover who they are, and also become better citizens of the nation.
What are some of the challenges you are facing?
The challenge we have been facing is financial. We are asking corporate bodies, government agencies to support this cause which has to do with youth empowerment, enlightenment of our children about our cultural values, and unity in our diversity.
Tell us more about National Heritage Awards and Miss Heritage?
National Heritage Awards and Miss Heritage Nigeria are unique and prestigious events that promote our culture and heritage, arts, exhibition of talents, etc.
We recognize and award individuals, institutions and organizations that have distinguished themselves in cultural related areas while Miss Heritage Nigeria is a platform to showcase the true beauty of an African woman, our African prints, style and creativity. There is no form of nudity or bikini.
What price will the winner take?
The winner and runner-ups will take home a full knowledge of how to be a successful and patriotic citizen of their country. She will visit an African country to show case Nigeria’s rich culture, cash prize which will be paid during her reign, cover page appearance on magazine, brand face of a fashion house and the star prize for the winner which is a car.
