Two prisoners had their heads severed and another two pushed to their deaths in a bloody jail riot at the Cascavel state penitentiary in Parana state, Brazil.
Trouble broke out following a row over food and hygiene, with the violence quickly spiraling as rival gangs set about each other settling old grievances.
A severed head of one victim was waved from the roof of the prison, while leaders of the rebellion are still holding two prison guards hostage and were negotiating with police last night (August 25).
