The Black & White Ball, Season 5 winners speak (5): Ituah and Ibidunni Ighodalo exclusive: ‘We’re meant for each other’

TRINITY House’s Pastor Ituah Ighodalo and his delectable wife, Ibidunni were voted Most Stylish Man (50s), Most Stylish Leader of the Faithful and All-Time Beauty Queen at the fifth edition of ENCOMIUM’s Black & White Ball incorporating the Elegance, Style and Substance Awards.  The adorable couple, who rarely grant interviews unbuttoned their heart to ENCOMIUM Weekly that Sunday, August 10, 2014.

They first appreciated the leading celebrity journal for the awards, discussed fashion and style and what has sustained their relationship over the years.

The couple also opened up on their business and passion.  On the ministry, Pastor Ituah started after he left The Redeemed Christian Church of God, years back, he said it’s doing very well.  We were further told that Trinity House would continue to grow from strength to strength.

The former Miss Lux (Ibidun) on her part confirmed ENCOMIUM Weekly’s exclusive story on her multi-million Lagos event centre, The Dorchester by Elizabeth R.  She, however, declined comments on its exact cost, promising it would soon be opened…

pastor ituahYou were decorated All-Time Beauty Queen at the fifth edition of ENCOMIUM’s Elegance, Style and Substance Awards.

I really appreciate the honour.  I feel elated and I thank the organizers for finding me qualified for this special award.

What does style mean to you?

Style means comfort because I believe a lot in simplicity as it speaks more volume. What some people do not understand is you will be addressed the way you are dressed.  I feel beauty becomes important when it’s from within because the beauty outside is just for a while.  Also, the beauty that stays forever is the beauty from inside which comes from the peace of God.

A lot of people think we have to break the banks to look beautiful. How much money do you need to look good?

God has already made you whom you are because when He was creating you, no one was there.  God created each person at a time.  That is why we are all unique and have different thumb prints.  You do not have to break the banks to look beautiful.  God has already beautified you.

How do you juggle family, business and spiritual life?

I have been blessed with an amazing man, a husband who supports me in everything I do. He is my chairman, father, best friend, brother and everything to me.  I have a wonderful husband who pushes me, encourages me and tells me I can get there.  When you have someone who believes in you, you would not want to let him down.

It’s obvious you really love your husband.  What’s the secret?

God’s love keeps us together.

You recently completed an ultra-modern event centre, The Dorchester by Elizabeth R.  When would it be opened and how much did it gulp?

It would be opened very soon and I would not want to disclose how much it cost me.

What should we expect from it?

You have known me and you can also tell from my style that I would not do anything that would not be up to standard.

PASTOR ITUAH IGHODALO

How does it feel to emerge Most Stylish Man (50s) and Most Stylish Leader of the Faithful at ENCOMIUM’s Elegance, Style and Substance Awards?

It’s an honour and privilege to be so recognized.  And I give God all the glory.

Pastor ItuahYou straddle the corporate, political and spiritual world, how do you do it?

Those are my interests.  I am interested in business, called by God and I’m very interested in leadership.  The way our nation is going, I wish I could have an opportunity to turn Nigeria around and take Nigeria to the heights that it should be.  So, I prayed about it and believe God will work His way again and I’m really determined to contribute my own quota to make Nigeria the best country in the world.

Insurgency is threatening Nigeria, corruption is the problem.  If you were President Goodluck Jonathan right now, what will you do to save Nigeria?

I would let Nigerians know the vision that I have to bring the country out of its old ways, to fight corruption and unleash the economic potential of this country and also to ensure that we have the right kind of infrastructure.  We must change the ethos and the ethics to know that hard work can really pay. If we do that, Nigeria can be transformed.

What does style mean to you?

Style is having a sense of dress to fit every occasion and situation.

Three years on, how is Trinity House doing?

I can’t stop thanking God for what He has done to Trinity House.  It is not a phenomenal work but we are still moving, helping people and we are ready to do what God wants to achieve in Nigeria.

Considering Redeemed’s issue back then, any regrets so far?

None at all.  God makes everything work together for good.  So, God just used him to bring me to my destiny.  I thank Him for everything.

You have an adorable, delectable and kind hearted woman beside you, how does it feel?

I thank God for giving me a very wonderful wife.  Hard working, supportive and very loving.  She has made life very easy for me, so, I thank God for that.

What would you say has kept your marriage?

We are meant for each other.  So, it’s the work of God.
