A £1million (N266m) lottery jackpot winner who went on a round-the-world eight-month long holiday blowing £80,000 (N21.3m) has returned to find he can’t get a mortgage.
27-year-old Matt Myles took his brother, Pete and three of his friends on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure – visiting six countries including Bali (Indonesia), Thailand, Brazil (for the world cup), Ibiza (Spain), Tuscany (Italy) and the United States of America (USA); after his winnings in April.
He has now returned home to Hereford (England) where he has had to buy a house outright after being turned down for a mortgage because of his previous poor credit rating.
