Abubakar Shekau, Hale and Hearty – Ahmad Salkida

Borno-born journalist and Boko-Haram ally, Ahmad Salkida, tweeted yesterday to debunk claims of the execution of Boko-haram leader, Abubakar Shekau on Sunday, September 21,  in the border region of Gambaru, Nigeria.

He said: “Mark my words: I have it on authority that Shekau is well and alive. The picture going round is not the person who torments us with his group”.

The report was also denied by Shehu Sani, a Northern activist who argued that if it was true, the Islamist group would issue a statement.

Meanwhile, the Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, has maintained a neutral stance.
