They say there is no price too high for the ones you love; this proved true on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, as Mary, Ali Baba’s beautiful bank MD wife presented him with a ‘priceless’ gift – a 2016 Mercedes-Benz S500 for his 50th birthday!
The apparently-excited comedy king proudly showed his guests including crooner, Dr Sid, comedians, AY, Tee A, Gbenga Adeyinka, Okey Bakassi, among others, the wonder on wheels, described by a certain guest as “the future”.
Narrating how his lovely wife of close to ten years presented the surprise to him, the ‘golden boy’ said: “I just got up in the morning, and she said ‘happy birthday’ and presented me with a wrapped box. She then asked me to walk with her downstairs without telling me why. When we got downstairs and came outside, she pointed to the car and said ‘that’s for you’. A loved-up couple indeed!
You can guess the car must be worth a fortune for a car collector like Ali Baba to be excited. It goes for about $115,577 (N23 million). The car was available from February 2015, but was not released for sale officially until this June 2015. Yes, that means Ali Baba is one of the very first owners of this car. It was launched in the market in February 2015, but only became available in the market this June.

The V12 can produce a torque of 830 NM in 1900 revolutions per minute given a displacement of 5980cc. It has a power output of 530 KW. Its fuel consumption is as low as 8.9 litres (2US gal) in 100 km ( 60 miles) covered. It has a top speed of 250km/h (155 mph) though it is electronically limited.
