Amosun optimistic of Buhari’s victory, peaceful poll

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has expressed confidence in the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari in Saturday’s Presidential elections.

He is also optimistic of his election into the Ogun Central Senatorial Senatorial seat as well as other candidates of the party. Amosun gave the assurance while speaking with journalists after rounding up his campaign in Abeokuta, the state capital yesterday. He stated that Buhari’s victory is not negotiable, because he has performed creditably in the three broad policy areas of his government. “if we want to be truthful, he has done well in the three. Where will Nigeria have been if President Buhari had not won the 2015 elections? We can’t expect that all that have been spoilt in the past 16 years be corrected in less than four years”, he said. The governor appealed to the people of the state to come out enmass and vote massively for the president, assuring of a peaceful election in the state.

On ballot box snatching and the stance of Buhari, Amosun said, “anybody that wants to snatch ballot box will want to do it with violence, so the pronouncement of the president will save the lives of our people and at the same time, make our votes count.”
