Amosun Orders Rescue Operation at Accident Scene

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, yesterday ordered operatives in his convoy to carry out rescue operation at the scene of a ghastly accident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The governor, who was on his way to Lagos, during a heavy rainfall, saw six of the victims trapped in a 14-seater commercial bus, that ran into a stationary truck, with registration number, AKD 39 XU.
Amosun, immediately ordered the combined team of the Police Force and the Traffic Compliance Enforcement (TRACE) Corps, to join passers-by to carry out the operation, directing that the victims be taken to the State Teaching hospital, Sagamu.
The six that were critically injured are presently receiving treatment at the hospital, while bodies of five others, including three men, one woman and a baby, who died, have been deposited at the mortuary of the teaching hospital.
Amosun, speaking to news men later, condemned the indiscriminate parking of vehicles along highways.
