BANKY W WASHES HANDS OFF FACEBOOK SCAM ‘Be careful’

Foremost RnB singer, Bankole Wellington also known as Banky W has washed his hands off a Facebook scam trending in his name. The aggrieved singer went on social media a couple of days back to warn fans and up and coming artiste not to fall victim of the scam.

“Folks, I have said it over and over, please be careful, EME is not charging any unsigned artiste to get any deal. They are impersonating us.

“EME has never and would never charge any up and coming artiste to perform at any show, it is impossible. I don’t know where else to say this. Do not pay money to any one on Facebook pretending to be me or any representative of EME. They are lying and stealing from you.

“Fake profile of me are defrauding people of their money, Please unsigned artistes do not pay.”

A fraudster was prowling the social media a couple of weeks back, parading himself as Banky W, defrauding young up and coming music acts of their money.

A new face book account known as Banky Wellington was opened as an avenue to cheat people.

Information available to ENCOMIUM Weekly revealed that the RnB singer’s fans were contacted and asked to pay N10,000 to perform at a Samsung launch coming up in the second quarter of the year. Forms and invitation letters for the show was allegedly sent to some people as well, requesting for their participation in the Samsung launch.

We also gathered that some people had fallen victim of the scam.

Bubble bust when Banky W got wind of the news through his twitter handle. Some of his twitter fans who had gotten the invite requested to know if truly it was from Banky W. This he denied, insisting it was not from him neither from EME.

All effort to reach the talented artiste to corroborate what he wrote on twitter proved abortive as at press time.
