Chimamanda, activist rapper, Akala, storm Lagos for Felabration 2019 Symposium

Renowned Award Winning writer, ChimamandaAdiche, is a foremost speaker at this year’s Annual FELABRATION Symposium referred to as The FELA Debates. The topic for this 2019 Symposium is “Teacher Don’t Teach Me Nonsense”, derived from a FELA Monster Hit of same title.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie born on September 15, 1977 in Enugu, Nigeria is a Feminist Nigerian novelist as well as a writer of short stories and of nonfiction Adichie, who was born in the city of Enugu in Nigeria, grew up as the fifth of six children in an Igbo family in the university town of Nsukka in Enugu State While she was growing up, her father James Nwoye Adichie was a professor of statistics at the University of Nigeria. Her mother Grace Ifeoma was the university’s first female registrar. The family lost almost everything during the Nigerian Civil War, including both maternal and paternal grandfathers. Her family’s ancestral village is in Abba in Anambra State, Nigeria.

She will be sharing the FELA DEBATES’ Stage with erudite law teacher, Prof. Akin Oyebode, from Nigeria, British activist, Akala, and Ugandan politician, Bobbi Wine.

Kingslee James McLean Daley (born 1 December 1983), better known by the stage name Akala, is a British rapperjournalistauthor, activist, poet and political activist. He is also one of the Speakersat this year’s event.

Robert KyagulanyiSsentamu (born 12 February 1982), known by the stage name Bobi Wine, is a Ugandan politician, businessman, philanthropist, musician, and actor. As of 11 July 2017, he serves as the member of parliament representing Kyaddondo East constituency in Wakiso District, in Uganda’s Central Region. He is another Speaker of the day.

Until recently, Professor Akin Oyebode was a professor of International Law and Jurisprudence in the University of Lagos. He is the fourth Speaker of the day.

This event comes up on Monday October 14, 2019, inside the NECA Events Center, Ikeja Central Business District, AlausaIkeja.

SefiAtta (born January 1964) is a prize-winning Nigerian author and playwrightHer books have been translated into many languages, radio plays have been broadcast by the BBC, and her stage plays have been performed internationally. Awards she has received include the 2006 Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa and the 2009 Noma Award for Publishing in Africa.

She is the moderator of the event billed to start at 10am promptly on the day.

The FELA DEBATES, is a segment of the Famous Annual FELABRATION FESTIVALdesigned to intellectualise the FELA ideals and ideas. Over the years, the Symposium has attracted some of the best minds of the Africa Continent. We have had as Speakersdistinguished men like Prof. YemiOsibajo Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Renowned activist and scholar, Prof. Patrick Lumumba of Kenya, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker, House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria etc.

This year’s edition promises to be an earth shaking event. There will also be contributions from all our Renowned FELAIST and Activists like Femi Falana(SAN), Ace Journalists Lanre Arogundade, Kunle Ajibade.

The event symbolises the kick off of the FELABRATION 2019 Carnivals. From the dusk of that Monday, the music events take off. 6pm to 5am every day for 7 days. All “A” list Musicians will be performing.

The event is opened to the public.
