The Imo State government has continued to receive palliatives to assist the poor and vulnerable in the state despite the lockdown.
Uche Sylva International Limited, on Friday, donated a trailer-load of three thousand (3,000) cartons of Tummy Tummy Noodles to help the State Government in her determined effort to wrestle down the multiplier effects of coronavirus disease.
Adressing the group in Government House, the Deputy Governor, Prof. Placid Njoku who represented Governor Uzodimma said, though times are hard, the state acknowledges the donation with gratitude, adding that other well-to-do Imolites whom God has blessed should show concern to the needy in our midst.
Prof. Njoku assured that the item will be properly distributed to people they are meant for, stating further that the government will work assiduously to ensure that Imo is safe from coronavirus disease as long as people adhere to the rules laid down for the prevention.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and Chairman/Managing Director of Uche Sylva Group, Chief Uche Sylva Aladi (Okenwa Urualla) said they believe that their little support will go a long way to help the government in her stride to provide palliatives to the poor and vulnerable groups in the state to cushion the hardships and biting effects of the ravaging Covid-19 pandemic.
Chief Aladi also prayed God to ensure that the disease does not enter Imo State.
