Health officials in Colorado, United States (US) are looking into nine cases of muscle weakness or paralysis in children as they fear a virus which has been causing severe respiratory illness across the country is responsible.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday (September 26) alerted doctors about the polio-like cases, adding that the germ — enterovirus 68 — was detected in four out of eight sick children who had a certain medical test.
Health officials remain unsure whether the virus caused any of the children’s arms and legs weakness.
