MTN’s Partnership with the Nigerian Football Federation
On September 2, 2021, MTN Nigeria signed a partnership agreement with the NFF making the company the Official Communications Partner of the Super Eagles and other national teams. This partnership will see MTN execute several exciting activities around Nigerian football, giving football lovers an opportunity to enjoy the sport in a unique way.
Sponsorship of the Nigerian league
MTN won a $17 million deal to sponsor the Nigerian league in 2010 which expanded its influence in Nigerian football as we know it.
Sponsored the Super Eagles’ boat ride to Port Novo
MTN Nigeria sponsored the Super Eagles’ boat ride to Port Novo for their AFCON Qualifiers match. In addition to the provision of two boats for this ride, MTN Nigeria also provided seven crew members in addition to insurance policy covers required for the team to embark on the journey to Cotonou, Benin Republic for AFCON.
‘This is Naija… Where Football Lives’ Campaign
MTN Nigeria launched ‘This is Naija… Where Football Lives’, in 2018 establishing its support for Nigerian Football. The campaign amplified the World Cup experience in Nigeria.

MTN Nigeria and top Premier League club, Arsenal Football Club partnered in an effort to identify and coach the best young footballing talents in Nigeria.

MTN Football Scholar Program is a youth soccer camp that focuses equally on football and academics. It provides a platform for Nigeria’s best student athletes/soccer players that are academically sound to earn scholarships to universities abroad.
