Elite model winner,  Damilola Okunola speaks: ‘I feel super excited’

 

The 8th edition of Elite model Look Nigeria with Aquafina 2015 grand finale was held at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos on Sunday, September 13, 2015.

ENCOMIUM Weekly’s NKECHINYERE IBEMERE spoke to one of the  winners, Damilola Okunola who won the star prize of 5,000 US dollars…

Introduce yourself to us?

1-DSC_1002My name is Damilola Okunola and I’m the second child of three boys. I live with my mom, dad lives in Chicago (Illinois, USA). I have an O’level but intend going to Canada to study Business Administration. I am 19 from Oye Local Government in Ekiti state.

How do you feel being the winner?

I feel super excited because I have applied for three years with no luck but I won this year and still surprised.

What went through your mind when you were announced the winner?

I was blank for some minutes, never expected to win.

What do you think gave you an edge over other contestants?

I think my body, because I work out a lot and maintain a constant fitness routine.

Did you think you would win?

Yes, but I had a second thought Seun Logan was going to win.

What was the experience in camp?

The experience was kind of boring because the models didn’t get to interact well with themselves but I gained experience in runway walk training.

Why did you decide to contest?

This is my third year applying and I wasn’t ready to give up. Also, I really wanted to model.

Are your parents in support of you being a model?

My mom is in support.

What would change about you now?

Nothing would change because I’m real.

What are the goodies (other prizes) that came with the prize money?

What will you do with your prize money?

I will invest.

What pet project do you have in mind?

To own a salon and invest in dogs and train them.
