Five episodes and three weeks deep into Africa Magic’s Overall Best Celebrity Showdown and it has been nothing short of entertaining. With each passing episode, the show keeps getting better, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats and eager to know which of their favourite celebrities would be crowned the Overall Best.

The game show has proven to be a must-watch for both reality TV show lovers, and everyone seeking entertainment for different reasons.

Here’s a comprehensive list of five things to know about the game show for both avid viewers and newcomers:

Playing for Charity: Beyond the thrill of seeing your favourite celebrities competing, the show embraces a noble cause. Each team champions a noble cause, vying not only for personal victory but also to secure a substantial prize for their chosen charity. However, even the teams that don’t win would still contribute to their charity of choice through the Overall Best Celebrity Showdown piggy bank.

The Broadcast Schedule: Spanning seven weeks, the show’s schedule boasts a dynamic lineup. With three weeks already gone, viewers can still catch the remaining four weeks, with two episodes airing weekly on Saturdays and Sundays on Africa Magic Showcase (channel 151), Africa Magic Urban (channel 153), and Africa Magic Family (channel 154). Saturday’s episode offers exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpses, rehearsal moments and engaging diary sessions, if you are a reality TV show lover then you should not miss this. The Sunday show features the main game show where each team competes for the games slated for the episode. At the end of the season, the team with the highest cumulative score will be crowned the Overall Best and take home the coveted trophy.

The Teams: The show has three teams, Team Litty, represented by Big Brother Naija stars, Liquorose, and Beauty Tukura. This team doesn’t just have beauty but they have the brains and determination to be crowned the Overall Best. There is Team Vibe Squad, led by the charismatic men in green, Akproko Doctor, and VJ Adams. This team brings all the vibes you are looking for to keep entertained on the stage. Last but not least, Team Sizzle, represented by the dynamic duo of Layi Wasabi and Scarlet Gomez, promise endless entertainment with their wit and comedic flair. Each team is joined by two super fans, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.

 

The Games: Every episode presents fresh challenges, with each game tailored to a unique theme. The theme of the second week was “music” and they were faced with three different games that had to do with music, while the third week revolved around reliving childhood memories, this episode took us back to “tinko tinko” days and it was amazing to see and have that nostalgic feeling. The games have been challenging but the teams have been doing a good job dabbling between competing and keeping us entertained.

 

The Celebrities and Fans: The show boasts a star-studded lineup, featuring celebrities across various sectors. In addition to the celebrities who make up the teams, we have two amazing hosts with the most, Osas Ighodaro and Hero Daniels. We have also seen some well-loved faces appear on the show as esteemed judges like a popular Nigerian musician, Chike, and dance luminaries Bunmi Olunloyo and Kaffy as well as Nollywood fave, Ibrahim Suleiman.  Additionally, the fans play a pivotal role, from the dedicated super fans joining each team to the enthusiastic audience members cheering on their favourites.
