A central France hospital will in September open a wine bar in its palliative care centre to terminally-ill patients and families.
The bar will offer ‘medically supervised’ wine tasting in a bid to “restore longing, taste, desire and even pleasure” to the patients, according to Dr Virginie Guastella, the head of the hospital unit.
Wine and food have been proven to have a positive impact on someone in the last days of their life.
