Glo hosts Ikeja subscribers at Laffta Fest

It was a heavy human traffic on Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos, on Sunday, October 3, as Glo subscribers trooped into Water Parks Hotel to relish the funniest comedy show in the country, Glo Laffta Fest.

The Ikeja edition of the show, which is currently touring major cities across the country, recorded a massive turnout of Globacom subscribers who had long waited for the arrival of the Laffta Fest train from Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, where the show was held a week ago.

Excited guests were seen arriving at the Water Parks Hotel in droves and taking photographs with one another before the large Glo backdrop. As they took their seats and waited anxiously for the commencement of the show, DJ Spinall ensured there was no dull moment as his music oozed from the large speakers in the auditorium which sparkled with brilliant lighting effects.

Up and coming artistes whetted the appetite of the audience even further with their performances. Baba Kay, L.A, Omini, SLK, ATM, Thelma, Tupengo, Dice and Liquidman set the ball rolling with rib-cracking jokes and musical performances which elicited cheers from the audience.

Then came the superstar comedians and musicians. The dexterity and suspense with which AY who anchored the show announced the next comedian to come on stage heightened the anxiety of the audience. The comical depth of Funnybone, Senator, Gandoki, Okey Bakassi, Buchi, Acapella and Bash kept the audience glued to their seats.

The performance by Marvin crew diva, Di’ja, was exhilarating. Her sonorous voice filled the air as she performed her hit track, ‘Awww’. She brought her performance to an end in fascinating fashion as the audience yearned for more fun.

African Rapper No 1 and Microphone Magician, MI brought his magic to the party as he wowed the audience with his major hits including N1.

Earlier in his welcome address, Globacom’s Business Director, Akin Adebisi, promised more value for subscribers in the coming days.

“As a business enterprise which believes strongly in empowering its subscribers, we have decided to continue to give all our subscribers more of everything we do,” he stated.

Adebisi urged the guests to keep on using Glo as the company was committed to meeting their expectations at all times. He announced that the Glo Laffta Fest train would berth at Ibadan next Sunday, and urged subscribers who wish to attend the show in Ibadan, Edgeda, Ijebu Ode and Abuja to use up to N3,000 before the show and sending ‘LOL’ and preferred location of the show to “33001”. For example, ‘LOL IBADAN’ to 33001.
