Glo’s satire, Professor Johnbull advocates philanthropic culture

High moral standards, especially sacrificial giving and love, are the morals in this week’s episode of Professor Johnbull, the satirical sitcom sponsored by the grandmasters of data, Globacom.

Titled “No Help”, the latest episode examines the factors responsible for people’s unwillingness to go the extra mile for persons in distress.

Professor Johnbull is scheduled for broadcast today on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Chanel 251 and NTA on StarTimes at 8.30 p.m.

The linchpin of the sitcom, Professor Johnbull, acted by veteran Nollywood jewel, Kanayo O. Kanayo, highlights the  repercussions of repaying good with evil.

In a statement in Lagos, Globacom said that episode “No Help”  featurises the raw deal some good  Samaritans have suffered in the hands of ingrates. “Sadly enough, it is the society that suffers ultimately as any act of ingratitude, no matter how little, is capable if dissuading others from rendering help and assistance even to those who would have appreciated such help”, the statement opined.

It added that  “the saying that one soiled finger soils others is as witty as it is educating and this is why individuals should be very careful about their attitudes so that one person’s mistakes will not rub-off on millions of others. The episode  is a must-watch for anyone who cares about the dearth of help  in the contemporary society  as the episode situates the problem properly, calling attention to acceptable behaviour for the good of the public”.

Viewers will see Professor Johnbull in his most benevolent form; the worldly wise value of Churchill (Jnr. pope Odonwodo), the business acumen of Olaniyi (Yomi Fash-Lanso) and his reservation to lend a  helping hand in his Nkwobi business.

Other posers that will confront viewers in the episode include whether Caro’s (Mercy Johnson Okojie) kindness will be stretched; where will Elizabeth (Queen Nwokoye) stand when Caro’s position is threatened? How true is the position that the world will know no help if those who are helped continue to sow the seed of ingratitude?

Repeat broadcast of “No Help” will be aired on Friday at 8.30p.m. on the aforementioned channels.
