‘I have passion for what I do’ – Tara Adesemowo

The CEO of Tareis Beauty Cosmetic Lounge, Mrs. Tara Adesemowo, celebrated fifth anniversary as she opened her new head office at Olufunmilola Okikiolu Street, off Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos, which was well attended. ENCOMIUM Weekly was at the event and had a chat with her.

How did you get into this business?

I always have passion for fashion business. My journey as a makeup artist started as a teenager, and I went into it professionally in 2009. I went into hair and beauty business, which is more like an inborn thing, likewise beads making and the nail fixing. All these I went for professional study on them in South Africa.

Talking about study, can you tell us your educational back ground?

I graduated from Covenant University where I acquired B.Sc. in International Relations in 2008.Thereafter, my journey to South Africa was to do a short course in beauty, nail fixing and makeup artist.

Five years down the lane, how is the journey so far?

The journey has been good, I give glory to God. I started with very little with an empty shop and it’s growing fast. The journey was a gradual process, so five years in the industry has been fantastic and it is something I love doing full time and I’m not planning to leave.

Can you tell us the challenges so far and how you were able to square them up?

There is no trade that doesn’t come with its own challenges. Challenges are everywhere, is it makeup artists, that have over flooded the market. I was able to overcome my challenges because I have passion for what I do and I ensure I put professional touch to everything I do.

I try to put class and quality as well.

What makes you stand out among your competitors?

I will say one of the factors is our passion and quality service.
