MORE TROUBLE FOR DIEZANI OVER CHARTERED JET

-Shocking revelation of how millions are stolen per flight

This is surely not the best of times for Petroleum Minister, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke as more shocking revelations have been unearthened over the multi billion naira public funds allegedly splashed on acquisition, maintenance and chartering of two private jets. Information available to ENCOMIUM Weekly revealed that the committee has uncovered several new flight schedules operated on foreign trips by the minister between 2012 and 2013 using the N8.1 billion Global Express Xrs- Tail No: OF LG,OE- LSS and OE-INA respectively.

private jetIn the new discovery, it was alleged that one trip gulped about N50 million, the same journey that would have cost about N7.5 million while on another trip which took place on December 21, 2012, from the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja to Matson Airport In the United Kingdom allegedly on the Global Express X’s with the number OE-LGX gulped N57 million as against the normal N6 million if it were not to be a chartered flight.

It was also discovered that there was never a valid contractual agreement put in place for most of the billions of naira given to the private jet operators for the purported lease of the jet for her use, but which frantic efforts were now being made to perfect since the matter became public knowledge.

Consequently, the House of Representatives have turned the heat on her to probe her. They have formally written the minister of its investigation while giving her one week to respond to the query. The letter written and signed by the chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts, Hon. Solomon Adeola Olamilekan, was dated March 26, 2014.

Insiders squealed that the issue has sent the controversial minister panicking as she doesn’t want her case to be like her counterparts in the aviation industry. Thus, she has been running from pillar to post to appeal to her godfathers to intervene and save her from the embarrassing scenario.
