Most popular celebrities on social media on  parade (2) -the stars that rule Facebook,  Twitter and Instagram

They say when the beat changes, the dance steps change as well; this is true with Nigerian celebrities who are moving with the times.

Gone are the days celebrities needed face-to-face interaction to keep in touch with their legion of fans as now all you need is a social media account, be it Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

On parade here are the celebrities who pull massive following and who move and shape the Nigeria social media space, taking into account Facebook, Twitter and Instagram…

ICE PRINCE

On the evidence of his social media following, everybody truly loves Ice Prince. The Niger state native who has two albums (Everybody loves Ice Prince and Fire of Zamani) to his credit has 702,928 followers on Twitter. On Facebook, he has 1,089,893 likes; while on Instagram, he has 666,000 followers. Ice Prince is someone you’ll call ‘cool fresh guy’ and this is clear in his updates and photos. He keeps his fans entertained with nice and interesting pictures and updates.

2FACE

Whether you call him 2Face Idibia, 2 Baba or simply 2 Face, you’d still be referring to the record-making groundbreaking musician and one of the finest this generation has ever seen.

On Twitter, the Benue state native has 1,166,121 followers; on Facebook, 499,856 ‘like’ him and on Instagram he has 492,000 followers. That’s 2,161,916 altogether.

BANKY W

The Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) boss gives his fans a taste of the ‘W experience’ on social media with a nice combination of humour, wit and good interpersonal skills.  No wonder, he has such an impressive following, totalling 1,981,120. On Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, he has 1,124,358, 405,000 and 451,762 in that order.

TIWA SAVAGE

Queen of contemporary pop music in Nigeria and Eminado singer, Tiwa Savage may be on maternity leave now and as such has not been very active in the music circle, but that has not diminished her following. On Facebook, she is ‘liked’ by 121,752, while on Twitter she is followed by 1,148,170. Her Instagram following 601,000. Bringing the number of the mother-of-one to 1,875,547.

RITA DOMINIC

Born on July 12, 1975, the light-skinned actress and producer has built an enviable brand for herself, confirmed by her social media following which stands at 1,811,222. On Twitter, 825,597; her Facebook ‘likes’ is 455,625 and on Instagram, she is followed by 530,000.

IYANYA

From soulful singer to ‘all I want is your waist’, Iyanya has undergone some metamorphosis and they are clearly paying off. He has since bagged mouthwatering endorsement deals with giants MTN, Solo Phone and Lenovo. On social media, he has bagged some success, too with 1,393,075 following him, broken into Twitter (600,108), Facebook (270,967) and Instagram (522,000).

OLAMIDE

Baddo, Baddest Guy Ever Liveth and king of the streets are all monikers ascribed to this energetic crooner who has not stopped rocking the dance floors with hits.

His Twitter following is 565,508; his Facebook fans stand at 172,992; while on Instagram, he is followed by 542,000 people.

FUNKE AKINDELE

Sulia kan, ayetoro kan is a line from her popular flick, Jenifa which took her career to a whole new level. Her social media following sky rocketed as a result, now she is followed by 1,127,589 people. Her Twitter, Instagram and Facebook following are 404,359, 558,000 and 165,230 respectively.

TONTO DIKEH

When many think of actress and singer Tonto Dikeh (or Pokolee), the words that come to their minds are “drama” and “controversy”.

She carries that strong persona to social media and has 1,121,374 fans. On Twitter, she has 591,631, while on Facebook, her ‘likes’ are 116,743 and 413,000 follow her on Instagram.
