Mtn Group Hosts Nigerian Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Delegates In South Africa

MTN Group recently welcomed a high-level delegation from Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to its Johannesburg headquarters. This visit marked a significant step in preparation for His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s upcoming state visit to South Africa in December.

 

The delegation included prominent figures such as Rt. Hon. Wole Oke, Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs; Amb. Ahmed Sulu-Gambari, Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Nigeria’s High Commissioner, H.E. Alexander T. Aja. They were hosted by top MTN executives, including Mcebisi Jonas, Chairman of the MTN Group Board; Jerry Varachia, Chief of Staff (CEO’s Office); and other MTN executives.

 

During their meeting, the Nigerian delegates lauded MTN’s contributions to Nigeria’s economic development, highlighting the company’s role in infrastructure investment, digital inclusion, and job creation.

 

Mcebisi Jonas reaffirmed MTN’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria and South Africa’s ties and assured the delegation of the company’s active support towards the presidency’s economic and diplomatic goals during President Tinubu’s visit in December.
