Nigerian talent shines on Brand New DStv Channel, HONEY

HONEY, the new Pan-African lifestyle channel, goes live on Monday, 15 February 2021 at4pm, offering an exhilarating blend of African lifestyle content from the continent.

Key to HONEY’s offering is bold and unscripted shows by African producers. Content pillars for the channel include lifestyle, food, romance, fashion, beauty and reality shows from across Africa.

Leading the Nigerian talent set is celebrity stylist and radio host Dami Oke, who joins HONEY as presenter of the dramatic and suspense-filled wedding dress show Wawu, that’s my dress. Set in a Nigerian boutique, the show features hopeful brides looking for the perfect dress for their upcoming wedding day. Wawu, that’s my dress will premiere on Monday, 15 February 2021 at 6:30pm.

Could you tell a stranger all about your relationship? Love swap will set tongues wagging as two Nigerian couples who don’t know each other meet up for a meal. While cooking, they swap partners for an honest and introspective conversation about each other’s relationships. The kitchen is set to sizzle – and we aren’t talking about pots and pans! The show will premiere on Wednesday, 17 February 2021 at 4pm.

Nigeria is also proudly represented by Pearl Umeh in The buzz, a talk show hosted by one of South Africa’s most loved and vibrant talents, Anele Mdoda, and featuring a panel of five women. Pearl is a 33-year-old beauty enthusiast who has five years of experience in the customer service and human resources fields. She prides herself on her ability to read and profile people, and uses these skills to give professional life and relationship advice. She describes her personality as “fire, water and sugar”.

Pearl is joined on set by Rachel Wakesho from Kenya, Zanna Katoka from the DRC and Davina Mavuwa from Zimbabwe and together they answer a viewer’s dilemma – be it about romance, health, their hustle, family or friends. Sparks are sure to fly with various personalities, cultures and sentiments thrown into the mix. The buzz, airs every Monday to Thursday at 6pm from 15 February 2021).

In The next big trender, the search is on for Africa’s hottest influencer. Six aspiring social stars from five African countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Kenya and South Africa go all out to win the ‘opinionistas’ over by showcasing different facets of their lives. The next big trender starts Friday, 19 February at 6pm.

HONEY will be available for Compact, Compact Plus and Premium subscribers from Monday, 15 February 2021. Online viewers from across the continent will also be able to enjoy shows on other online DStv platforms, including the DStv Appand Showmax.
