Nigerians condemn Abuja bomb blast

The Thursday, May 1, 2014, repeat bombing of Nyanya, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory by a group of demented people masquerading themselves as Boko Haram, has been condemned nationwide. The repeat of the barbaric and mindless act, almost at the same spot was an indication that the federal government is lackadaisical about the security situation in the country.

ENCOMIUM Weekly sought reactions of some Nigerians again on the incident…

‘They’re devils from yet to be identified source’ -ALICE ADISA

I am disappointed that the place was bombed again. I think by now, the federal government should beef up security in all our motor parks, even the airports. We also need prayers to overcome these Boko Haram insurgents. They’re only tarnishing the image of muslims. I don’t think they even understand the Qur’an.

They are only faking the Arabic they speak. They’re devils from yet to be identified source. But I still believe that now that their issue has spread across the world, they will soon liquidate.

‘Our security men are not living up to expectation’- YEMI SOTAYO

Bombing of Nyanya again was disgraceful. I believe our security men are not living up to expectation. After all the security alerts, the place was attacked again massively. A lot of people also lost their lives. Then, we’re still smiling up and down.

The federal government should set up a committee to probe the repeat bombing of Nyanya. It’s a sign that government itself is handling the issue with levity.

‘This act of terror must stop’- BOB MANUEL UDOKWU

First, I sympathise with the victims of first and second Nyanya, Abuja bomb blasts. We all are saying in one voice that terrorism must stop. I think that all hands must be on deck to contain Boko Haram and terror. It is not all about President Jonathan and security chiefs. It is our duty to assist government, too.

‘It’s a sad page in our history’- STEVE NWOSU

The last Abuja bomb blast is most regrettable. I think government should live up to its statutory responsibility of protecting lives and property of its citizens. It’s a sad page in our history.

‘May God help us in this country’- SAHEED OLUKOGA

May God help us in this country, it is a sign that the Boko Haram sect are more intelligent than our security operatives.

‘It is getting too much’- KHADIJAT AREMU

It is getting too much, whoever is behind this should state their case instead of killing innocent Nigerians.
