Nigerians don’t believe Emefiele’s end of recession tale

Nigerians have reacted to the claims by governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele that the country would get out of recession in the third quarter of the year.

They made this known in an opinion poll conducted by encomium.ng

Kareem Suleman

It is just an assumption, he also used only one index which is the foreign exchange. Since the dollar came down, there is no significant change in the prices of commodities in the market. That is what affects the common man . If that is the only index, I don’t support his claims unless dollar can further crash to N150 or N200, that is when the common man can feel the impact.

Funke Olaoye

I don’t believe it at all, I have not seen any significant change in the economy. Dollars has not crashed to the extent that we would feel the impact. I pray it comes to pass.

Seun Omoboriowo

I really don’t know how that can be, if we are to look at the nature of things in the country. We also need to consider the basis on which

that statement was made . It was because of the intervention in dollar price. I  am a business man and I didn’t  feel any significant difference .
