Though the once upon a time bubbling arena is not back to its old self, activities are gradually picking up as buyers are seen moving from one end to the other. While some shops are still under lock and key.
According to information pieced together by encomium.ng, the market was reopened after traders fulfilled the requirement as stated by the government.
One of the requirements was to fence the market thereby creating a walkway for buyers and passersby and preventing street hawkers from displaying their goods on the walkway as well as on the road thereby obstructing traffic. These instructions the traders have adhered to.
Speaking about this development, some of the traders who are back to business expressed their excitement.
“I am happy our shops have been reopened, it has been a while I made money to cater for my family. All the goods in my shop are intact, we have fulfilled the requirements given to us by the government and I am happy about it, we are waiting for business to boom like it used to”.
