– Insists he’s not ready for development
BILLIONAIRE preacher and founder of Household of God Church, Rev Christopher Okotie is beautifying his expansive property on Billings Way, Oregun, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
The two-time presidential candidate of Fresh Democratic Party and ex-pop star has completed the total repainting of the front view of the two acre-stretch fence.
Transformed from its faded old colour to a glittering cream, the prime property estate valuers put at about N800 million per acre, is also witnessing internal ‘facelift.’ This has commenced with the painting of the gate and security house. The luxuriously grassed premises is also being mowed by Okotie’s workers. The next phase is to prune the whistling pines almost growing wild. Also part of the beautification project is a flower garden outside the perimeter fence.
But, debunking speculation that Rev. Okotie may be nursing plans to commence development of the premier property he acquired in the name of his ministry (Household of God) about twenty years ago, his spokesman, Mr. Ladi Ayodeji said in an a phone chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Wednesday, September 11 it’s not true.
“There is nothing like that. We are not ready,” he added.
On the estimated cost of Okotie’s Billings Way, Oregun, Ikeja land, Mr. Chimezie Brown Jnr., MD/CEO Wayne Urbane Style, a top notch Lagos-based real estate firm said, it’s over N1.6Bn!
“Yes, Okotie’s two acre land on Billings Way, Oregun, Lagos is worth at least, N1.6Bn because it’s an industrial property at a high rise area close to the State Government House, Alausa. We call it a destination location.”
Rev. Chris Okotie has over twenty acres of land in the Oregun, Ikeja area of Lagos. The flamboyant cleric owns all of Household of God Street, which stretches from Clay Bus stop, Kudirat Abiola Way to Billings Way. But he is ironically still a VIP tenant in Awuse Estate, Opebi, Ikeja Lagos.
