Otedola’s Making It Big jumps to number 3 on Amazon best seller list

Just after two days of its global release, Femi Otedola’s ‘Making It Big: Lessons from a Life in Business’ has climbed to the number 3 spot on amazon.co.uk best seller list in business biographies and memoirs.

This morning (August 20), the long-awaited business memoir of the Chairman of First HoldCo PLC and Geregu Power PLC is on the third spot on the list of books ordered from Nigeria.

Yesterday (Tuesday, August 19), it was number 4.

Released globally online and in bookstores on Monday, August 18, Making It Big is enjoying rave reviews. From billionaires to industrialists, technocrats and intellectuals, it’s all praises for Otedola’s first effort at writing a book to inspire entrepreneurs and those aspiring to lead in business.

The 286-page book was endorsed by Africa’s richest man and President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, founder and Chairman of the Doyin Group of Companies, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, World Trade Organisation’s Director General, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, President of the Africa Development Bank Group and Ms Arunma Oteh, Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (2010 – 2015).

From starting a nail cutting ‘enterprise’ in 1973, carrying a briefcase like a businessman to primary school, being his father’s driver and personal assistant to working in his printing press and later starting a money-lending outfit to selling diesel and much more, Making It Big captures the grass-to-grace-to-grass-and-grace story of the 62 year old mogul.

The pain and triumphs and humiliation and later victory of Otedola are vividly portrayed in the business memoir.

‘Making It Big: Lessons from a Life in Business’ is available online on makingitbigbook.com, waterstones.com, amazon.co.uk and amazon.com. You can pick up copies of the book in bookshops across Nigeria, Cameroon, Uganda, Tanzania and South Sudan, as well as in the United Kingdom.
