Encomium
At the Pastor Chris Live segment of the Global Communion Service with Pastor on Sunday (September 7, 2014) evening, the man of God took time out to address what he called media reports making rounds in Nigeria and some parts of South Africa about his “wife filing in a London court for divorce. Speaking from Canada in a live broadcast, he drew the attention of the print and electronic media to the office of a ‘man of God.’
According to him, a man of God is ‘handpicked’ by God and prepared specially for such office. Giving instances from the Bible, he reminded us of the story of Moses’ inability to carry out instructions to the letter and also a certain prophet, who was mislead to err. Coming to his own matter, he said that those ‘stupid things being written in the media’ he never did and he is innocent of them all.
He further said that his focus and ministry responsibilities are more important than these issues.
He, however, reiterated that God who calls out a man of God gives him the grace and ability. And God who called him is the one to judge and not man

Pastor Chris enjoined his congregation to continue to pray for her at this time and always, adding that the fact that one is a popular and influential man of God does not make his spouse spiritually mature or grown to same level as they are. He stated that according to the Bible, divorce is not an option of resolving issues in marriage. Even as Christians, we are not supposed to take fellow Christians to court, but in the event that we are sued to the courts, we should go and defend ourselves.
He ended by acknowledging the fact that there are people who would be happy to have those issues ‘circulating in the media’ to be true. But he is glad they are disappointed.
