The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has taken solace over the death of one of his praise team members, Sister Kemi Esanola.

The death of the praise singer was announced by the RCCG Praise Team on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. The statement reads thus: “RCCG Praise Team announces the departure to glory of an icon of praise, a woman of honour and a role model, Deaconess Adekemi Esanola. Till we meet and depart no more. Good night”

Being a pioneer member of the team, Sis. Kemi played important roles in the group led by Pastor Raphael.

According to our reliable source, the Praise Team usually lead praise and worship in all the major programmes which must feature Daddy G.O. (as Pastor Adeboye is popular called) in any part of the country, and Sis. Kemi is one of the gifted hands in that team.

Sis, Kemi was conspicuously missing at the last convention of the church held in August. Those who were close to her recalled their encounter with her shortly before her death.

A member of the Mass Choir, the larger arm of the choir of the church related her last discussion with her: “The last time I saw her, I asked if she was okay and she said she’s just feeling weak which she will get over very soon. Then I told her to please rest very well. Though, I noticed some spots on her face which I told her to apply some ointment that could clear them. Rather, it was so shocking to hear about her death after our last conversation,” she said.

Though, the cause of her death is yet to be ascertained, many scooped it could be a terminal disease (cancer), due to her prolonged sickness. Burial arrangement of the praise singer who was survived by her husband and two daughters is yet to be announced by the church. One of her last ministrations was at Praise Night, organized by Lagos Province 22.
