Poll: Better Nigeria group adopts Buhari for second term

A U.S.-based Nigerian group, “Better Nigeria USA” has adopted President Muhammadu Buhari for second term come Feb. 16 poll.

This is contained in a press statement signed by the group’s Chairman, Dr. Salewa Ola and made available to newsmen on Thursday by the group’s Secretary General, Chief Titus Amadi.

“Better Nigeria USA (BNU) is a cohesive network of Nigerian professionals in United States dedicated in solidarity for the advancement of democracy and good governance.

“We unconditionally resolve to confirm our unwavering commitment to endorse President Buhari’s re-election and hereby urge fellow Nigerians to do likewise come Saturday.

“In view of our commitment for economic excellence and community advancement and in consideration of successes recorded by President Buhari administration, there is need for his reelection.

“Buhari has shown commitment in combating corruption and insurgencies around the country, along with its commitment to eradicate corruption, reinvigorate the economy, and results in critical infrastructure development,” the statement read.

According to the statement, the group is premised on good governance and resolve for a stable, united and prosperous Nigeria where every citizen is a veritable stakeholder.

The statement noted that over the course of Buhari’s career, ‘he has demonstrated that he is a leader we can trust and who shares our values and hears our concerns. 

“His administration met the difficult challenges facing the country and has firmly stabilized it.

 “Buhari has remained a steady hand of calm and good judgments with fairness and compassion, his actions make real difference in people’s lives; and has continued to protect the values we all hold. 

“He is a man of perseverance with an inner strength.

“We admire his ambition for the state. We are encouraged by his dream and we believe in his big future, for our dear state,” it stated.

The group described the president as the most credible candidate to run the affairs of Nigeria in the next four years, hence the need for electorate to cast their votes for him this Saturday.

 ” Buhari has performed well in improving Nigeria’s economy through agricultural transformation and economic reforms.

“He’s certainly deserving of a second term to enable him to complete the good job he has been doing,” it urged.
