A London financier’s wife has been awarded £337 million (N89.6bn) in what is regarded as Britain’s biggest divorce settlement, the BBC reported yesterday (Thursday, November 27).
Sir Christopher Hohn (48) was ordered to pay his estranged wife (Jamie Cooper-Hohn, 49) the hefty sum following fighting over assets worth about £849 million (N225.8bn) after the crash of their 17-year marriage which produced four children.
American-born Cooper-Hohn wanted half the assets. But Hohn offered a quarter, arguing that he had made a special contribution to their wealth during their marriage.
