Prior to his 2011 death, Libyan despot, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi had become the richest man on Earth, knocking American billionaire, Bill Gates into second place.
The loot, stashed in South Africa, placed his worth at a whooping £111 billion (N31.08 trillion) at the time of his death and includes six million carats of diamonds (six tonnes) as well as hundreds of tonnes of gold.
Representatives of Libyan government officials and several companies are trying to claim the loot – which South African officials have described as the ‘biggest heist in the world’.
