Russia shuts down McDonald’s outlets in Moscow over ‘sanitary breaches’

As tensions between Russia and the West continue to soar, Russia’s food safety agency has suspended operations at four McDonald’s restaurants in its capital – Moscow – over alleged sanitary law breaches.

The watchdog agency claimed the fast-food chain was responsible for “numerous violations of sanitary legislation requirements”, and that it had taken legal action against McDonald’s for alleged violations and improper labeling.

McDonald’s have released a statement saying that it is reviewing the watchdog’s claims.
