Senator Abba Moro takes Empowerment/Consultation tour to Agatu and Apa

Distinguished Senator Abba Patrick Moro, on Wednesday, stormed Agatu and Apa Local Government Areas in continuation of his empowerment/consultation tour of the Nine LGAs that make up Benue South Senatorial District.

Addressing the crowd that trooped out to receive him in Agatu and Apa, Senator Moro said the visit was to interface with the critical stakeholders, thank them for their support and formally inform them that he is seeking re-election to the National Assembly. He stated that he was aware of other contestants for the position but averred that Senate was not a place for political neophytes.

He say having served for a term already, he knows how to navigate his way to speak for the people and facilitate people-oriented projects to the land, since he won’t be going back as a First Timer.

Comrade Moro noted that before he won the election in 2019, he had promised to be a voice of the people and he has remained a constant voice of the Benue South. In his words, “Having served as a Local Government Council Chairman and Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, so many things are not new to me. I have established contacts and connections that can open doors for our collective good.”

He stated that he had kept his promise to always remain a voice for his people, and to also remember them with whatever resources that accrue to his office and that is what made him to visit the entire constituency with empowerment items.

The Senator recounted his series of intervention and constituency projects in Agatu and Apa.

While responding in Agatu, Agatu PDP Local Government Chairman, Hon. Eche Emmanuel, enumerated the various gestures the Agatu people have benefited from the Senator. He made mention of the 5 boreholes in the LGA, the bikes purchased for some victims of the tanker explosion, the medical equipment distributed to Agatu communities, the solar street light in Okokolo, etc. He thanked the Senator for all his efforts and begged the Agatu people, on his knees, to give their support to the Senator for the actualization of his second term bid.

Elder Isidore Idoko, from Okokolo, thanked the Senator for always remembering them and assured him of their total support.

Hon (Mrs) Winifred Elaigwu, who spoke on behalf of the women, said the Senator was a proactive leader and settler of people’s challenges. She assured the Senator of their support.

In Apa, the PDP Chairman was full of praises for the Senator for all his projects in the LGA. He said they would follow the Senator because he’s the one they know.

Baba Akpode, in his part, recalled the massive recruitment of youths by the Senator when he served as Minister. He said the Senator had followed up on that by the quantum of projects that he has facilitated so quickly to Benue South, Apa in particular. He enjoined the people not to allow anyone deceive them but that they should follow Abba Moro.

Hon. John Onehi also thanked the Senator for always being a constant friend of the axis and promised total support of the people.

The highlight of the visit was the distribution of empowerment materials, which included motorcycles, refrigerators and generating sets to the people.
