Senator Sani Mohammed Musa the best for the APC national chairmanship job – Chieftain, Mumuni

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Amb. Abayomi Nurain Mumuni has urged all members and other stakeholders of the ruling party to vote Senator Sani Mohammed Musa as its next National Chairman.

Mumuni, a renowned security expert, endorsed the candidacy of Senator Sani on Monday, ahead of the party’s forthcoming National Convention, slated for October, 2021.

Musa, a first time Senator representing the Niger East Senatorial District of Niger State at the  9th  Assembly, is among the eight aspirants – all northerners, who have so far  declared their intention to run for the top APC apex office.

Mumuni described Musa as a thoroughbred politician cum business oriented fellow that has the credentials to pilot the affairs of the party.

According to him, Sani that I know is a business oriented Nigerian that is conversant with our political terrain. He is a man with identifiable income before political office and highly respected across the length and breadth of the country, with a sound academic background.

“He is a person that can pilot the affairs of the party and aggregate the various interests of the APC while accommodating both the Youths and Elders with substance.

“Our great party, the APC does not need a Chairman of zero substance this time around or an imposed chairman under some ancient godfather as we did experience in the previous epochs. Patriotic and devoted party members have declared their intention but the most qualified in my personal opinion is Senator Sani,” he noted.

According to him, Sani, despite being a first time lawmaker, is the Chairman, Committee on Senate Services, which I can call the engine room of the whole Senate. He hasn’t disappointed his fellow Distinguished colleagues in the discharge of his duties, same way he isn’t going to let the party down if he is giving a chance to lead.

Amb. Mumuni, who has authored a number of globally acclaimed books on terrorism, said he knows virtually all the aspirants but said, “As a Chieftain, I will rather cast my vote for and throw my support behind the candidacy of Senator Musa, who believes in due process, reason why he relied so much on the Nigerian judiciary institution to protect and defend his Mandate at Supreme Court during the last electoral tribunal proceedings.

“His belief in due process will further strengthen the party structure and give hope to some aggrieved members who had issues with the party in the past. He is a ditribalised Nigerian who can unite the party members across the different geopolitical zones.

“Without any sentiments, any of those aspirants should surrender themselves to the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) or the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for profiling for Nigerians or our dear party, APC to kmow their substance,” he added.
