Slum King Rerun Graces Africa Magic’s December Lineup

African Magic’s original drama series, Slum King, commenced a rerun on Wednesday, 20th December, airing on weekdays at 9:30 pm on Africa Magic Showcase.

Slum King, which initially premiered on the 8th of October 2023, gained immense popularity for its gripping plot and stellar cast, featuring two-time AMVCA ‘Best Actor’ winner Tobi Bakre in the lead role as Edafe ‘Majemijesu’ Umukoro. The series, produced by Chichi Nworah and directed by Dimeji Ajibola, took audiences on an intense journey through the psychologies, drama, struggles, and ambitions of young men ruling over the slums of major metropolises.

The rerun reintroduces viewers to the intricate narrative of Edafe’s life, as he transforms from a disturbed young boy in the slums to become the charismatic king known as MAJE. Audiences will once again witness the trauma and guilt that propel Edafe towards his pursuit of power, providing a unique perspective on the challenges faced in major slums of metropolitan cities.

“Slum King is a journey that explores the depths of human emotions and the complexities of life in the slums,” shares Dr. Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels, MultiChoice Nigeria. “The rerun is an opportunity for viewers to reconnect with the characters and delve into the layers of storytelling that make this series truly exceptional.”
