Synagogue building collapse: Lagos state government begins inquest into disaster

The Lagos state government on Friday, September 26 instituted a Coroner’s inquest into the six-storey Synagogue building which collapsed on September 12 in Ikotun, Lagos.

This much was in a statement issued by the Ministry of Justice, which also stated that the inquest was instituted by the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye.

The examination is for proper documentation of those who lost their lives, in line with international best practices, as well as to ensure that each corpse is delivered to the appropriate family for burial.
