Teaching assistant who sent explicit pictures to pupil quits 

Elaine McKay, the teaching assistant who sent explicit pictures of herself to a teenage pupil has quit her job.

The 58-year-old worked at the 1,700-pupil Clacton Coastal Academy in Essex, she had admitted sending a string of explicit photos to the 15-year-old schoolboy, but denied claims that the relationship escalated to the pair having sex.

Jurors at Chelmsford Crown Court  found her not guilty earlier this month, but had been suspended since the allegations came to light, but today a spokesman confirmed she had now left.
