The 10 hottest songs of the first quarter of 2015

Just like a flash, the first four months of 2015 have come and would be gone in only a matter of days.

Nigerian artistes have not used the excuse that the year is still fresh and young to not produce good music to thrill; they have instead inundated the music lovers community with hits upon hits in the first 120 days of the year.

KOREDE BELLO –God Win

Korede Bello’s victory celebration tune, GodWin caught on like a plague. Released over two months ago, the Don Jazzy-produced song has become both DJ and radio favourite.

WIZKID -Ojuelegba

Off StarBoy’s sophomore album – Joy, Ojuelegba gives a peep into the early days of superstar singer, Wizkid. It was produced by Legendury Beatz.

KISS DANIEL -Woju

Budding star, Kiss Daniel dropped Woju last year, but the beautiful tune has been one of the most played of 2015. DJ Coublon produced this masterpiece.

P-SQUARE -Shekini

Arguably the most gifted music duo in Africa, P-Square have continued to rule the charts after over a decade! Shekini, produced by Vtek, is one of those songs that kicks you to your feet when it comes on.

DAVIDO -Owo ni koko

…and if you dance like Jackson, Davido sings on this club favourite as he proves there’s more where all the hits have come from. J fem produced this tune.

TIMAYA -Sanko

Still going strong after all the years, the super-talented Egberi Papa, Timaya served Sanko to his fans last year and it remained one of the hottest songs even in 2015. It was produced by Orbeat.

SEYI SHAY -Crazy ft. Wizkid

The sultry diva, Seyi Shay was embroiled in some controversy after her performance at a youth concert which had President Jonathan in attendance; that, however, didn’t stop her collaborative effort with Wizkid from sitting pretty in the charts. Crazy was produced by StarBoy‘s Legendury Beatz.

LIL KESH -Gbese

Lil Kesh just keeps churning out hits. The YBNL Nation signee followed up the success of Shoki with a number of singles but none better than Gbese. Produced by Young John, the lyrical prince delivers in his
usual style.

DI’JA -Aww

With a voice like hers, Di’ja will, in no time get a place among the stars. The petite and beautiful singer soulfully dishes Aww which was produced by the maestro, Don Jazzy.

PHYNO -Yayo

Man of the year and ‘onye nme nme’ Phyno spits fire on the major bang-produced Yayo. Though released last year, it remained one of the hottest songs in 2015.
