As Nollywood stakeholders mourn the demise of actor, Muna Obiekwe, who passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2014 due to kidney complications, president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Ibinabo Fiberesima has claimed that the guild wasn’t aware of Muna’s ailment.
She had to make the clarification after she and the guild were attacked for not assisting the late actor when he needed them most.
Fiberesima had shared her tribute to the late actor on her Facebook page only to have negative and angry reactions from fans who felt she was caring for the man after it was too late.
In her defence however, the AGN president in another post insisted that the guild never ignores or abandons their own but were unaware of his ailment as he kept it from them all.
Nollywood stars have continued to pay tributes to the departed actor.

Stella Damasus: Just confirmed it from some close friends and relatives that he is really dead. The message from twitter that he was still alive was from a fake account. So this is my pain, how do you know what to believe and what not to believe? Where do we draw the line? Over nine thousand people on twitter have believed that he is still alive because of the fake twitter account. REST IN PEACE BRO! I was really hoping that it was a rumor. God rest your soul. This is too painful. Whoever put that message out not the fake twitter account should be careful. Don’t play games with people’s lives like that.
